Noel and Harold - Thanks for sharing this information. Are the two paints you mention (Tractor Supply Magic Red Oxide Primer and Ace ruddy spray primer) acrylics or solvent-based paints? Also, how do they "lay down" on a model? I've always bought Floquil's old line about the necessity of using "scale" paint with finely ground pigments that wouldn't cover details. And having just finished painting 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a hallway with gloppy, commercial acrylic housepaint only reinforces that perception.
