Over the years there have been many orders put out with humorous wording. Also often the dispatchers would look out for the trainmen by tipping them off as to when the TM was laying in the weeds doing ops tests. Back before computers the dispatcher could tell what and where signal problems were and tip off the Signal Maintainer. One nite a track light came on and we sent the maintainer out and he found a pair of battery jumper cables across the track and took them off and went home. IT was the Train Masters. As someone on other group suggested there may have been an alternative reason for the operator to inform the dispatcher and close the station. Leo Phillipp
