A truss is not a truss is not a truss...  There are many different truss designs.  The Historic American Engineering Record has a nice chart:

Hi all, does anyone have an example of a CB&Q through truss bridge drawing?  I'm trying to document the former bridge 0.91 at Ashland and would like to draw it up in the format that the Q used if possible.  I've photographed and measured (probably missing significant dimensions) the still-existing 3-span bridge over the Republican River just east of Concordia KS which was, as far as I can tell, built to the same plans as bridge 0.91.

Thanks,

Randy
