The 5579 was most likely EMDX 5579, their SD24 demonstrator (EMD order #5579, EMD serial #24701, blt 7/58) which was later sold to the UP as their 448.

There is a photo of the J 913 and 3 sisters working they're way west on trk 1 in the east yard in one of either the Spoors Q books or Four ways west.

I have the Eola rdhse loco assng book of 1955-58 in my collection. It shows each and every loco moving in and out of the rdhse by day and job.

>From August 11-18 the Fox River had 2 geeps and the 5579 and 909 each day. When I showed this to long time switchman, foreman, brkmn and Condr Wade Gorman he recalled the Fox tried the center cabs for a short time to get over Wedron Hill. The 900 series were the J center cabs.
This number series was not in use on the Q in 58 nor was the 5500 series. But I have no idea what the 5579 was or where from.

Wouldn't it be a real treat to fin a photo of this lash up out on the branch ?
