My question is when at Eola. I was in high school in Barrington in the
early sixties, and the daily local from the J would deliver their cars
to the CNW interchange yard, which today is the commuter train storage
yard. As of that time, each of the center cabs had been re-engined with
2-1200 hp EMD 567's with the change out to the EMD hoods, tapered from
the top of the cab roof to the original height of the original ends of
the locos. An interesting locomotive, especially in the orange and green
of that time. The loco set on the J for the local was the BLH reengined
plus an SW switcher making about 3000HP for the set, an
ant-and-grasshopper act.
