Ken-

I ignored it in my emails because we were discussing K-9s and I didn’t catch the A-2 that came to the Q the same way.

Thanks,
Charlie

Hi Charlie,

I truly don't know if the 4-4-0 that Rupert mentions below was actually sent to the Macon Construction Company or if the one that eventually would up on the Q was the same. At any rate, the Rhode Island builders list shows Construction Number 2202 as being built for the Wyoming Pacific Improvement Company. This engine was actually Pacific Short Line No. 13, and after the usual iterations we've been discussing ended up as Willmar & Sioux Falls/Great Northern 238. GN included it in Class B-6, the rest of which were Rogers locomotives. GN 238 was assigned to the CB&Q by the 11/1/1907 lease, and was delivered to the CB&Q on January 29, 1908. Joe Douda's correspondence with me stated that on the CB&Q it became No. 373, and operated as a Class A-2 engine. It was retired in July 1918.

Best regards,

Ken Middleton
