Some stock cars of the period were described as dump cars (or dumping cars) so those may be the cars Rupert is asking about.

Rupert, 

I have a 1917 ORER I downloaded and a 1920 orer that I hand copied. In both 3001 - 3200 are listed as stock cars. 

The only thing that could be a dump car are the ballast cars 

10001-10144   35'11"  134 each

10145-10150   41' 6"    6 ea
