That is what I mean by some Hoggers could get the train over the road.
Most of the DS in Cicero road the train as well.  We walked from Clyde or Cicero to House 9 and then back after the shift.  One nite on 2nd trick I got caught by the snow.  My relief could not make it out of Chicago(House 9 was as far as he ever got out of town) so I had to work till 3 AM( DS hours were 8 and 12 in emergency)((I had worked a job once no the East End and after 4 I was shot but still had to work the other 4 to go home)) course there were no rides home at that time.  BUT by chance 85 was still sitting in the yard they had not let him go SO I jumped on him and we went roaring West on track 3(no one was out yet to lite up the burners to save money??) We blew thru Western Springs just as the city had finished plowing all the snow off the south platform and you know where it was piled.  HOW we didn't blow the windows out of that glass depot (since replaced by the present one) is beyond me.  Most of Aurora was plowed as it had quit and I shoveled enough to get the truck off the street and went to bed as the sun was coming up.  Still had to catch the 2:10 back to work .

What the heck...somebody talkin' about me in front of my back?...Lol. Yep, conversations with Mike were always good for separating out theoretical railroading from the real thing.
