Bill - Here's an image of the Burlington Zephyr ready to depart Denver Union Station dated May 26, 1934:

Passenger train history was about to be made! Thanks for reminding the List of that Special Day - Louis

I trust that everyone realizes that today is a special day in CB&Q history. Eighty years ago, on May 26, 1934, the three car Burlington Zephyr (later, the Pioneer Zephyr) made it's historic dawn to dusk run from Denver, Co to the Chicago's Century of Progress exhibition, covering the 1015 miles in just over 13 hours at an average speed of 77.6 mph. That day, 80 years ago, changed railroad passenger service in America and certainly changed passenger service on the Chicago Burlington and Quincy from that point on. Happy Anniversary, Pioneer Zephyr.
