FWIW, I photographed an "extra order" BLW builder's plate similar to this one mounted on the tender of ACL 250 - a steam engine preserved in Wilmington, NC - always thought that maybe they ordered a different tender later?

I see no evidence of any kind of plates being mounted on the fireman's side. Of course, plates were removed during shoppings and were not always reapplied afterwards. Yes, a bit of a mystery as to what the plate was that Hol mentions.
