Thread-topic: | Oregon, IL Truss Bridges |
Nolen and Tom, In 2005 I spent 5 hours in Oregon, documenting the area for a future Free-mo module. I came to the conclusion for a standin bridge that the Walthers Single Track Warren Truss bridge, was the best suitable standin for the bridges at this location. I have already purchased my bridges, and will start work on the bridge module next year. The CV bridge while a beautiful model, looks to be a little daintier and wouldn't support the loads that are running today. However, if one wants to model the bridges, it'll require styrene and Archer Rivets to do it correctly. Walthers makes a Warren truss that is approximately the same length. I've never seen a Cooper rating for either model, but suspect that the Walthers Warren truss has a heavier rating. Without good pictures it is a little hard to tell what the prototype is.
