I've lived in Aurora all my life (60 years) and can assure you that no such
CB&Q tracks ever existed after the viaduct was built. The whole point of the
viaduct was to get the tracks out of the Aurora (east) downtown business
district. The only street-level tracks in the business district were street car
tracks or the CA&E.
Not to mention that what you're proposing would involve at least 6 (!) grade
crossings across VERY busy streets and the purchase of the R-O-W land.
All this just to add trains from Aurora to the proposed western terminals? It's
a lead pipe cinch that there are very few folks in Aurora interested in riding
to Yorkville or Plano. They're simply not destinations. Nothing there to see or
do. Yorkville/Plano to/from Chicago? You bet! But you don't need to stop at
Aurora!
