Great and interesting photo! The baggage (mail storage) car behind the locomotive is a post-war baggage car with full skirts, possibly "Silver Treasure" or similar built by Budd in 1948. The RPO is similar to pre-war cars Silver Mail and Silver Sheen. Following the heavyweight baggage (mail storage) car are two pre-war chair coaches with a Diner-Parlor-Observation car bringing up the rear. The equipment built for the "Silver Streak Zephyr", when introduced in 1940 included: 9909 "Silver Bullet" (reportedly re-assigned to Sam Houston Zephyr in 1944 for a period) Baggage Car "Silver Light" (not pictured here) Baggage-RPO "Silver Sheen" 52 seat Chair Coach "Silver Gleam" 52 seat Chair Coach "Silver Glow" Diner Parlor Observation "Silver Spirit" Hubert --- In CBQ@yahoogroups.com, <klinerarch@...> wrote: > > > List, I found a picture of a Zephyr in an old late 40s tourism booklet for > the St Joe area of Missouri.
