Jeff
It may have been a CSX bridge as you cross over/under on the way to the Myrtle Beach area.  ACL
Like I said you need to check out the back roads.  I think it was 28th st in Ft Worth that had the painted bridges one way was one road the other was the other direction.  And when I use to go to Sherman I would drive thru Whitesboro and they had a UP bridge with two different fallen roads hearld cast in the abutments
It is hard as you come upon a bridge and drive with the idea to photograph with no pullouts around and/or traffic
The GM&O HS did a photo article on the bridge ads in the Chicago Area years ago.
Steve

OK - I'll bite Steve - what was the RR name?
Some one recently posted some pictures elsewhere of Rock Island bridges of various repaintings with the logs and lettering showing through. Mostly bridges in Iowa.

Thanks!
Jeff

And in this era of very little if any bridge maintenance you can still find those type of bridges around the country.  There were many bridges in the Ft. Worth area with long gone fallen flags.  I went under one in Eastern South Carolina early in the month and almost drove off the road when I saw the name on the bridge.  It almost looks like it had been repainted recently Steve in SC

Barry Stone, a ret'd ferryboat pilot (the big vehicle transports on Puget Sound, Washington) whom I met on eBay is a sometime railfan who shared very recent & unique photos of an old FW&D bridge (overpass) in Wichita Falls. What is unique is that one view clearly show the very old (early 50's & earlier) FW&DC lettering (before the "C" was dropped from the corporate name) and another view shows, due to numerous repaintings, 3 different BR heralds atop another old FW&DC name. SO - if when modeling you goof up the decals on an overpass, here's a BR prototype. Tks Barry! (who now will become a focused BR fan!) Gerald Edgar
