OK - I'll bite Steve - what was the RR name? Some one recently posted some pictures elsewhere of Rock Island bridges of various repaintings with the logs and lettering showing through. Mostly bridges in Iowa. Thanks! Jeff Jeff Worones Seattle WA From: STEVEN HOLDING

There were many bridges in the Ft. Worth area with long gone fallen flags. I went under one in Eastern South Carolina early in the month and almost drove off the road when I saw the name on the bridge. It almost looks like it had been repainted recently

What is unique is that one view clearly show the very old (early 50's & earlier) FW&DC lettering (before the "C" was dropped from the corporate name) and another view shows, due to numerous repaintings, 3 different BR heralds atop another old FW&DC name.
