Hi All,

As a follow-up to this email, I contacted BLI about this issue and received a response that the open pilots were not included when they should have been.

Anyone who has a unit(s) from the most recent run that has closed pilots and needs the open pilots, should contact BLI directly in Mid May to request these be sent out. Proof of Purchase, etc... may be required.  BLI has a 30 day Back Order policy, and the spare parts are due in in mid June, which is why you shouldn't order before mid may.

Well, I took one of the E8's and was able to successfully remove the pilot. While it's glued on it came off with a little bit of force. I first pulled both sides out next to the body side, and then pushed the pilot from the back side, away from the truck and it came right out.

So I now have it off, it's time to get the replacements and see how they work. Hmm... for this sort of money, you'd think that it would be perfect.

BLI would not be able to supply the F3 pilot as that tooling was part of the Korea Brass/Lionel/MTH settlement.

If BLI will supply the F3
pilot, it should go right on, and still have to fill the opening to get the
sheet metal correct. That of course is if you are not going to put the clam
shell covers on.
