Mike has been a guest in my home, too. Some years ago, he purchased from me
several box loads of CB&Q Mechanical Dept. records on the early Zephyrs that
my dad had saved when they were thrown out. While having a couple of drinks,
Mike told me how he had served in the Marine Corps. with Ollie North
of Iran Contra Fame. An interesting story, to be sure. It's been a long
time since I was last in contact with Mike and wasn't aware of his illness. My
wife Taffy and I wish him all the best and we pray for a full recovery -

This is terrible news. I think of Mike as a good friend. We owe a
lot to him. He was one the earliest members of the BRHS and was editor
of the Zephyr for many years. He is a true lover of the Q. My prayers
are with him and his family. I remember some good times with him.
