As an interesting follow up to my post sometime back on the U28B's and U30B's,
it interesting to note that according to the GE builder's plates U28B's 106-110
were built 10/66 along with by U28B's 140-141, then U28B's 142-149 were built
in 11/66, then U28B's 111-115 were built in 12/66 to finish out the 20 unit
order. SO the units were not built in road number order.
This makes things interesting as to why it appears only units in the 140 series
were converted to U30B's. BTW, in June 1969 145 still had a U28B plate, but a
photo from July 1970 shows 149 with a U30B plate. The Burlington in Transition
photo from June 26, 1967 (mentioned int he original posting) clearly shows it
originally came with the U28B plate. I need to go back to photos to try to
confirm which units ended up with what plates and some general dates. I also
know that in 10/68 114 still had a U28B plate, and in 9/68 110 had no plate on
the left side.
