Aztec roller cleaner and Denatured Alcohol (not isopropyl alcohol go to a paint store and buy a gallon/quart of denatured alcohol).  After testing everything that will be mentioned to you (done as a scientific experiment) Published in NMRA Bulletin).  This method will clean far better than any other concoction.

Forgive me if this is off topic, but how do you clean your track? Have you found a sure, safe means of keep your rails clean? Abrasive cleaners are fine if you can reach the track, but how about the tracks on the "other side" of your layout, and the tracks in tunnels or staging areas? Do you have any "Do this" or "Don't do that" advice?
