Hi Folks,

I’m trying to catch up on my emails that piled up over the holidays.  Would someone on the list care to respond to this question?  Be sure to send your response to both Thomas and the list.

Dave

Hello, In my research on baseball I found a reference to an 1888 Burlington Route train to Denver that had a refurbished and remodeled sleeping car that was named "Galesburg".  As you know, Galesburg was a large railroad hub for passenger and freight trains going West.  I was born and raised in Galesburg and would be interested to know if this Pullman car was named after Galesburg, Illinois, my home town?

I have talked with the Railroad Historical Society in Galesburg and they knew nothing about this inquiry.  They would be interested if this be true, in adding it to one of their "golden nuggets" in the history of Galesburg, the Burlington Route, etc.

Thank you...

Thomas R. Hagerty
