You just gave me an idea of where to go for a definitive answer to my question about crew testing/qualifica tion for transfers !

 

I met Bob Janz last month and he and I had several long discussions. Turns out he and I live about 6 miles apart and we plan to get together in the near future.

 

At our last meeting he came up with a photo that I would have loved to have had for my recent article in Northwestern Lines about the Aurora Branch. Isn't that the way it always happens ? But then he did even better by confirming a point from his excellent memory for a future article.

 

The man is a wealth of knowledge and he can spin a railroad tale as good as any I've heard. He's as good as old Rip was. He kept us, who were in the know, in stiches until well after 11PM.
