Ahoy mateys!

There's been a long fraught discussion over on the NP list about Lou Menk's removal of the observation cars off the _North Coast Limited_ circa 1967. It brought up a couple of questions:

While Menk was at the Q, did he pull the observations off any of the Q's long-distance trains?

For my own information, in the 1960s, did the Q run any passenger limiteds between Chicago and the Twin Cities composed entirely of their own equipment, or were these trains all continuations of GN/NP service with mixed bags of GN/NP/Q equipment?

Thanks for any help on this one,
John Phillips
Seattle
