Some photos I have seen with BN name/number patches on them the patch itself is darker. That presumes the patch is Cascade Green and I'm not totally certain of that. Also, the patches are over paint that is two to three years old, so fading or color shifting is certainly possible when the photo was taken. The film and the age of the photo are factors as well. I'm intending to use John Deere green for a U23C I'm kitbashing, it matches photos I've found quite well. I'm basing that mostly on some photos that are of fairly new U23s and SD45s.
