Not quite correct.  On January 1, 1957, all trucks with "I", "L", and "T" 
section side frames were banned in interchange.  This would have included early 
built Andrews trucks.  However, Andrews trucks with "U" section side frames, 
such as those made for the USRA, were still OK.

I don't know if Andrews trucks ever were banned.  The newest AAR Interchange 
Rules book I have is for 1966, and there is no restriction listed there.  I 
suspect that Andrews trucks disappeared with the demise of the cars they were 
built with.
