I believe the official opening date for CUS was in mid-1925.

That is a question that has been bothering me as well..
The best explanation I’ve been able to come up with is that the CB&Q was using the old Union Station and they did not have enough capacity to take on the NP trains.
I believe the shift to the CB&Q over the C&NW corresponds to the opening of the new CUS. Might also have something to do with the competing GN trains already using the CB&Q.

The NP Historical Association lists 1911 as the year the North Coast Limited went through to Chicago -- but over the CNW. As the NP/GN had the Q in their pocket for about a decade at that point, why the _NCL_ was going over the North Western is a bit confusing. Does anyone know what date the _NCL_ shifted over to the Q?
