Are you sure about the page numbers? Amazon lists the book having only 128 pages.

In Karl Zimmermann's Burlington's Zephyrs on page 150-151, there is a picture of the Nebraska Zephyr with 3 of those Flexivan cars.

The Flexivans offered by Walthers are based on CB&Q prototypes. They were equipped with steam and signal lines for use on passenger trains but were never used as such. As a matter of fact they were not used in any service for long.
