Sometime after M day in 1970 (I think it was summer or fall) I found a RPO, Wrecker, and wrecker Gon at BN's Minneapolis Jct. still with CB&Q initials etc. all painted Silver. I look for the photos and check numbers. The photos are 620 size snap shots( 3" square). Previous wrecker photos always were in black.

Years back both ends of the system used mineral red for MoW colors but Lines East converted to the familiar 'safety orange' several years before Lines West did & allegedly some MoW equipment on Lines West, especially in remote areas, remained in the original color well into the 50's. I do not know though if they also used the dark green for derricks aka wreckers rather than the common black. Bernie Corbin's home layout had Q MoW equipment with most in orange but some in the red; he was my first source of info on that color change. --- In CBQ@yahoogroups.com, "Jonathan Harris" <jonathanharris@...> wrote: > > Whoa whoa whoa! > > Gerald, are you saying there were differences in the way Lines East and West equipment, buildings, etc. were painted?? This is an entirely new topic to me. Can someone please give me a primer on these differences? > Thanks, > Jonathan"" > > --- In CBQ@yahoogroups.com, "Gerald Edgar" <vje68@> wrote: > > > > The cover photo (is April as well) of the 2012 MP206 Burlington calendar shows Lincoln-assigned #204375 at a derailment in 1954. It's obviously dark green in color; was this a hold over from older Lines West MoW paint schemes? My familiarity with Q MoW paint is Lines East where all my memories and photos show black for derricks. Gerald > > > __._,_.___
