I could certainly see your point.  It makes sense that this would be an all wood depot.  The way the paint chipped really fooled me - I thought it looked like brick!

It looks like it's all wood to me.   The lower part of the sides and ends (below the belt rail) appears to me to be horizontal wood siding with relatively wide boards.  The upper parts (above the belt rail) appear to be wood siding with narrower boards.  The brick color coming through on the front appears to be the old red paint under the chipping white paint of later times.

Here is a link to slide of the Mt. Morris, Illinois depot that is for sale on eBay:
 
 
It looks as if the front was a combination of cinder block and brick and the sides were cinder block and siding.  Anyone know for sure?  Any details on the station?  You have to love the old style depot sign.  It looks as though they never updated it to the black on a white background like the suburban stations received.
