John, if it's just one freight car doing it on the switch, I would look at the 
gauging of the wheelsets and how the trucks swivel.  I use NWSL weathered solid 
nickel wheelsets on all my equipment.  I don't use the narrow tread width, I 
use the standard wide 110 tread.  Now only if my new brass HO cabooses would 
show up from the dealer.
