Joe, indeed was a great historian for the Q and a good friend, who
opened his home to a young trainman trying to learn all he could about
the railroad that employed him. About 25 years ago Joe asked me to
record every waycar I worked on and it's built date. I would mail him
a list every few months. He was always willing to share photos and
data. We have lost one of the great Burlington fans. he will be
