I don't have to look at pictures in a book. The Beardstown depot was NOT red
brick. It was yellow brick!

Thanks to John J, John M, & Steve for your responses.
Page 88 of "CB&Q in Color Vol 1" and page 33 of "CB&Q in Color Vol 4" have
photos of the Beardstown depot. It appears to be a modern red brick structure
with a curved "block" glass corner covered with an aluminum or stainless steel
awning over the glass corner window, & door. The window trim appears to be
green. White leters spell out "BEARDSTOWN" above the awning.
Were there any other flagstone depots that were not mentioned in the Classic
Trains article?
Steve, maybe another possible BB article could be modern brick depots like the
ones at Beardstown, St. Joseph (this one was yelowish orange brick), & Hannibal
(red in a postcard that I have) ? Maybe there are others as well ?
BB articles and/or data sheets of the various standard depot plans for pre-war
(wood, brick, castles, etc) and post war (brick , flag stone, etc) would
certainly be neat if the info is out there and if anyone is available to pull
it all together.
Thanks to all for sharing your info.
Bill
