Gerald and group: The last agent at the at Galena Jct was Charles
Hentzenberger
(sorry the spelling of the last name might be a little off as I don't have my
address book with me). He gave me a picture of him hooping up orders to a crew
which shows the antlers very clearly.

Galena Jct was a CB&N standard which Q Connection may produce a HO kit for.
The
former branch from Jct to Galena is now a hiking trail with some nice old
photos
and data @ a kiosk at Jct (depot was just a couple hundred yards south of where
IC/CN diverts eastward up north bank of Galena River to Galena & on to Chicago
while CB&Q/BN continues southward to Savanna & then east to Chicago. Last Agt
@ Jct was a guest at Dubuque Annual Meet; he's the one who placed antlers on
one
end of the depot (don't recall if anyone mfgs scale antlers - perhaps
decapitate
a full deer figure and paint a bleached white?)

Can anyone please steer me to photos of the old Galena Jct. depot? The only
photo I have found is in Spoor Vol. 2 page 79. That photo provides basically a
south elevation. I would be interested to locate photos showing the front
(west)
and rear (east) sides especially.
Also, and perhaps curiously, the Galena depot is not included specifically in
the info that Tim Fleck provided on the "Depot Drawing CD's" he made available
last year. That material included alphabetical listings of depots, but Galena
Jct. was not included in the list. I wonder why that would be? Also, I wonder
if
Galena Jct followed a "standard" design or floor plan, and where I would be
likely to find one?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Paul
