On page 58 in Dorin's book "Everywhere West The Burlington Route", he states,
"Equipment for the Zephyr-Rocket was provided by both companies. The original
consist included one locomotive from each road that operated through to each
terminal." That was the original plan, whetjer it changed over the years, I
can' say. ZR Jan 7 1941-1967 Dick Schultz

I have a short 8mm movie scene of the ZR eastbound on Milw. Rd.'s short line
hill in St. Paul, Minn. with a Q E-unit on the point during the late 50's or
early 60's. ....CY

Lenny,

It would be helpful to know the years you worked in Burlington so we would
know when the power wasn't changed. Did you work for Burlington or RI? Do
you mean the RI power ran through to St. Louis, or Burlington power ran
through to Minneapolis. My guess is the former, with power assigned by the
Cedar Rapids Division. Please clarify.

Also, early in the ZR years, the diner-parlor- observation cars were changed
in Burlington, with RI car between Minneapolis and Burlington and CB&Q car
(and power) from Burlington to St. Louis. Were any cars set out, picked up,
or changed during the years you worked in Burlington?

Nelson

Duncan,

When I worked Burlington as an operator the power was not changed.
