Gerald, The bid postings from the 40s and 50s for suburban jobs showing one or more baggage cars dont have a baggaman listed in the crew. These were closed cars being s/o in route or taken to Aurora. The Christmas time extra had working cars and were handling express and parcels at each station stop . Let me find that file and I'll double check whether it was the trainman or a baggageman in the cars. Of course a baggageman was a trainman who had passed the exam for baggage service. I do know for certain that when the newspapers were handled from power cars and DD vestibules it was a trainman tossing them out. Bill Lyons was the middle collector on the last job in the 70s that was still handling company mail and he worked in the collector/trainman class at the same pay rate as the other collector. It may take some time to find that file so be patient with me on this question. Leo [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
