Hello,
How about an HO and N scale model of the coaling pocket in The Burlington, IA
Yard and the one in The Western Ave. in Chicago, IL.?
You could build it as a 6 pocket or 3.

Since I am already performing that role in my capacity of Independent Model
Railroad Industry Consultant and work with a number of manufacturers, I'd be
glad to serve along with anyone else that is interested.
The PRR T&HS has a group which works out as they can specialize (Steam, Diesel,
Electric, Rolling Stock) and give very informed opinions, answers, and data.
Speaking of data, is there any sort of inventory of what information the BRHS
has in its scattered "archives"? It would be worthwhile knowing as
manufacturers work on a time schedule and it would be nice to know if we have
information before suggesting a hot project or searching high and low for it.

several "Annuals" ago[Kansas City?] someone volunteered to act as manufacturers
contact--have no present info as to what has happened to that individual-- if
that position is unfilled how about letting the membership know with the
possibility someone could volunteer to take over---jim young

ood for you Verlin - hope you can make it to a meet and by all means do not
esitate to offer resourses or material for publication. I do know at one time
e had some mbrs who were liasion with mfgs but not certain where that stands
urrently. It's always amused me the # of authors who have done books about
arious aspects of the CB&Q but are not mbrs nor do they ask for input.

re: do we have contact with Athearn to make this model more accurate
The bigger BRHS is, the more clout it has with model mfg's, authors, etc. Far
oo many Q fans (many on THIS list) are not mbrs. Why not buy one for yourself
Thanksgiving (something to be thankful for!) or let the wife, kid or brother
now this is what you want for Christmas (a couple Bulletins, Zephyrs, spec
heet & a calendar every yr, reduced rates for meets, swap tables, special
ffers, etc). PLUS more clout with Athearn et al!
