Michal, I've been working on my own BA-19/19A cars so had my copy of the Bulletin with the article on them open. It indicates that they weren't regularly appearing on the CZ until the 1960s but occaisionally showed up as part of a special move. This is probably what Stephen saw. In the early days the two classes of car still had different brake systems with the BA-19 having brakes designed for Zephyr service and these were the silver or SSS cars. Looks like you could do either colour with justification.
