I asked about open top coal bins like the ones in the structure archive in
the photo section of the BRHS web page, but got no replies. With a pending
bulletin on coaling towers, I'm wondering if these smaller structures will
be included. Actually, some were not so small, with two or three coal
chutes. I also asked for details about how coal was lifted up to the
elevated bins. Photos show a shed under or adjacent to the bins, but the
lift mechanism isn't shown in any picture I've found. Any information would
help model these small open bins.
