Paul:
One of my favorite spots to watch BNSF is in Galesburg. There are two
terrific spots. One is a bridge that crosses the huge yard at
Galesburg. It has parking lanes that you can pull over on and sit and
watch the yard action. I have never been "hasseled" here, even though
the police will drive by and check you out, none has ever stopped to
ask what I was doing.
The other spot is in a little park that has the old Santa Fe double
track mainline below and the "Q" above. You see an amazing amount of
trains here - probably 1 every 20 minutes or so.
