Russ,
You've got me confused. Congress Park isn't at Highlands, nor is West
Hinsdale at Downers Grove. I'm sure you know that as it sounds as if you
worked for the Q. Please explain.
Thanks,
John

Glen,
As information:
By October 1957 Congress Park at Highland was built at the
middle of 1957 summer.
By October 1957 West Hinsdale's at Downers Grove was built at
the middle of 1957 summer.
At the time October 1957 at Highlands and West Hinsdale there
here full tracks. All were ended at the end of the 1957 ending
dates. Information is done by CB&Q locations, I have shown them
as dispatched.
As of late 1957/early 1958 Congress Park had been eliminated
West now to CTC at that date from Congress Park to but not
including Downers Grove.
It may be interesting to note that the new locations were
running for a few months without CTC after they were in
service.
Downers Grove up to just West at Eola was CTC by end of late
1958.
Eola up to just West of West Eola was CTC by end of late 1959.

The following information is from an old Q station map. There were 3 stub
tracks that were located east of Lincoln Street that were accessed from the
Main 1 siding. Two of these were parallel to the mains, and went behind the
freight house, which was just west of Washington Street. These two tracks ended
within a few feet of Washington. The third track turned north after crossing
Lincoln and went to some coal sheds. It ended at the south edge of Chicago
Avenue, at about the middle of the block between Lincoln and Washington. There
was no evidence on the map that any trackage existed north of the depot between
Washington and Garfield Streets. The Q did own some of this block north of the
station parking lot at one time.
