Thanks for your reply. As it happens I am joining BRHS (well, the check is in
the mail anyway) but it is always nice to get a personal invitation!! It is
also helpful that you pointed out some of the resources that are available from
BRHS, like back-issues of bulletins, as I was not aware of them. Your
description of Rockford branch was very helpful to me, and I hadn't thought
about checking the Milwaukee Road society but will do so at your suggestion.
I am pretty sure that "w/f" means "way-freight" in your note, but what is
"P/U"? .
