Tim,
You are correct that our values have gone way down..we are a throw away
scociety these days. But I have to believe we have always let money and wealth
dominate to a large degree in what was done at any given time. It's sad but a
fact of life. In the case of thre Rochelle depot..it was a business decision
on their part and what we need to do as a third party is put ourselves in the
others shoes so to speak and ask what needs to be done. We may just agree a
little more often with the decision someone else made. As someone that lives
very close to Rochelle and took many a photo of the depot..yes I hated to see
it torn down but I can certainly understand why they did it. It won't be the
same train watching in Rochelle in the future but perhaps I'll find another
spot to replace it for future shots.
Yes money and wealth controls us...always has and always will...right or
wrong.

I agree with many of the points discussed on the
reasoning here. The saddest point of all is the fact
that this country no longer runs on values or
principles but everything revolves around money and
the wealthy. As a once proud nation respected world
over, the almighty dollar rules and will continue to do
so. The lessons of the past and reminders thereof will
continue fade into obscurity as long as our values are
money minded. There always seems to be a descsion to
be made is it the right thing to do or the costly
thing to do. Points to Ponder.....
