Ok, sorry for the cross-posting, but I know people on all of these lists
who will find some things of interest here...

The BRHS website now has the gallery operational (again) as well as a
board. I'd like to make a quick explanation of each so everyone knows
how to use them.

http://www.burlingtonroute.com

Gallery - the gallery is open for everyone to view, hopefully later this
winter we'll have some time to put up some high-quality scans for BRHS
members. If you have photos that you would like to add to the gallery,
either contact Dave Lotz or I, and we'll be glad to upload them for
you. If you have a considerable amount of photos to upload and know how
to use an ftp program, contact Dave or I and we'll create a login for
you. Currently we have no captions on the photos...I have all the old
captions from the last website, so if anyone wants to volunteer to
assist with getting the captions back, please let me know.

Board - I persuaded Dave that we might be able to use a board, and I
know some of you are quite familiar with boards. For those of you who
are not familiar with boards, web boards are merely another means of
communication over the internet, like this mailing list. The board is a
supplemental means of communication between enthusiasts of the CB&Q, and
should not be construed as a replacement for the CB&Q mailing list or
the BRHS official mailing list. It is merely an online meeting place
for CB&Q and other railroad enthusiasts. You do not need to be a BRHS
member to use the boards.

Please note that I have suggested and added a few features not found on
many other railroad sites, we will give it a trial period and see if it
works, if it does not I will remove it. The features are:

Forum for the announcement of new commercial products (read rules before
posting)

Forum for the announcement of new BRHS railroad meets/meetings

Forum for the announcement of websites with content that would be of
interest to BRHS members (read rules before posting)

The other forums are general discussion and model railroad.

To use the forums...go to the BRHS website and click on board. There is
a link that asks you to register. Click on that link, fill in the
information, and you will get a notification to log back in. You must
be logged in to use the board.

Any questions, feel free to email me or Dave about them, please don't
tie up the lists with 'how do I' or 'why are you' types of questions.

Anyhow, enjoy!

Cheers!

Jan Kohl
