Leo, In addition to those Dave Lotz reported. This info is circa 1968
except where noted.

Deere: Dubuque, IA (Tractors and later exclusively Construction Equipment)
Served directly by the Milwaukee
Ankeny, IA. (Cotton Pickers) Served directly by CNW

IH: Farmall Works Downtown Rock Island, IL. (Tractors) Served directly by the
DRI Line and the Rock Island

Harvester Works East Moline,IL. Served by the DRI Line and the Rock Island
(Closed in 2005)

Oliver (later White): (Tractors)Charles City, IA. Served directly by the
Milwaukee, the Charles city Western (later Iowa Terminal, and the Illinois
Central. Cockshutt Tractors for Canada were also manufactured at this location
in the 60's

Minneapolis Moline: South Minneapolis near Lake and Hiawatha served directly by
the Milwaukee (site of a Target Store today)

Hopkins, MN. (later purchased by White) Served Directly by the M&StL (later
CNW) Not sure about the Milwaukee on this one. There mainline to the West coast
was close by.

New Holland: (Harvesting Equipment and Combines) Grand Island, NE. Served
directly by the UP
This plant produces all CaseIH and New Holland combines today and will soon
begin producing
Harvesting Equipment again.

(Harvesting Equipment) Lancaster, PA. Served by the Pennsylvania and successors

Massey Harris: (Tractors) Racine, WI. Served directly by the CNW and the
Milwaukee (Closed around 1960?)

Massey Ferguson: (Tractors) Des Moines, IA. Served directly by the Chicago
Great Western (later CNW)

(Combines) Toronto, Ont. Served directly by the Canadian National

Allis Chalmers: West Allis and Oak Creek, WI. West Allis was served by the
Milwaukee and Oak Creek the CNW.
Not sure which product was manufactured at which plant. Now operated by AGCO.

Steiger: (Large 4 Wheel Drive Tractors) Fargo, ND. Served by the BN (I think
they started up after 1970)

Of the above plants only the following still operate today:

Deere All Locations

IH None

CaseIH Racine Tractor Works (in a newer plant on the west side, Original
Downtown works is gone),
Grand Island Combine and Harvesting Works, and the Steiger Works in Fargo.

Oliver/ White Now part of Agco. All of the old Oliver and Minneapolis Moline
locations are gone.

New Holland Owned by same conglomerate as CASE IH. Operate in Grand Island.
Another location (Lancaster?) soon to close.

Allis Chalmers Now part of AGCO. Gleaner Works in Independence still operating.
Not sure where AGCO
makes there tractors today.

In addition, CAT has become a major player with tractors made in the Peoria
Area and rebadged and Cat powered Klaus Combines from Germany.

This is by no means a complete list. Additions and corrections are welcome.

Subject: [CBQ] Implement/tractor plant waybill info.

Can anyone help me?
I continue working on my goal of making layout waybills as prototypical as
possible.
Can anyone point me to a source so I can learn where the major
implement/tractor plants were located and what each produced?
I have a base understanding that Deere was at Moline,E Moline and
Waterloo,Ia.
Harvester/Farmall was somewhere in the Quad Cities and Case was at Racine,WI.
I'd like to know what was produced and which RRs served each plant.
Anybody know where New Idea(other than Plano,IL),Minneapolis
Moline,Oliver,Ford,etc were located ?

Leo Phillipp
