Were the CN units pulling a auto rack train or a grain train?

Subject: [CBQ] Galesburg-Monmouth, Quincy Line
Took a trip yesterday to Galesburg and took the back road between
Monmouth and Cameron.
The telegraph poles between Galesburg and Monmouth have been cut down.
All the insulators were taken off the remaining poles which are in
piles along the roadbed. New signals have been installed along the
line, too. Loads of ties are line-side for replacement sometime soon
as well.
Saw a CN unit on the SF line at Cameron. Furthest west I had seen CN
before. Normally, they did not stray west of Galesburg that I had
seen. Anybody know about this?
Also, the searchlight signals at Colchester and Tennessee on the
Quincy line have now been replaces as well with the shaded UP-style
signals. The new highway is under construction west of Macomb and
south of Tennessee. Part of the funding is to pay for two railroad
Shoo-flies. So far, one beam is in place on the west side of the
tracks at Tennessee, but nothing else has been done near the tracks.
