After reading this post, I double checked and found that telegraph 
poles have also been removed west of the Mississippi.  I am so used 
to seeing them, I didn't miss them.

We have had new ties dumped along the ROW for about a year.  They 
are now replacing them west of Burlington on the south track and 
will probably be in Danville tomorrow.
