Bob,
American Models came out with a U25B in S scale and hirail about two years ago.
They did the Burlington in the Chinese grey. The funny thing is that they
used a U28B number. I bought a pair of them and currently have them at my
painter to get a little more detailing. AM's website is americanmodels.com. S
is an ideal size to work with as our eyes and finger dexterity age! You would
be surprised at how many S Gaugers are out there.

Keith - Is there a base model in S scale that can be modified? I'd love to
see one in S scale as well but what I'd REALLY like to do is build one in
1/4" scale using Proto:48 standards. That is what I was originally going to
do. At 48, my eyes focus better for O than for HO. Cost was the issue, and
the fact that it would be a ground-up build.

However, as stated, a lot of what we are doing will be illustrated in
prototype measurements and could apply anywhere. N or Z may be a bit small
for all the see-through grill work but I'm sure someone could figure it out.
