Joe,
What John was saying translates to:
1. The Q did own SD-24.
2. The SD-24 was manufactured in two basic versions (I hope my
illustrations below demonstrate this :-)
a. "Low Nose" and b. "High Nose"

----OOO------------OOO--- -----OOO--------------OOO---
3. The Q owned only the "High Nose" version of the SD-24.
4. Tenshodo manufactured only a "Low Nose" model of the SD-24 to the
best of my knowledge.
Is the model you bought a Low Nose or a High nose?
Dan

Subject: [CBQ] Re: Looking for Tenshodo SD24 in CB&Q livery
FYI- The Tenshodo SD-24's were all Low Nose, which the 'Q' didn't own!
Unless you are just collecting Tenshodo brass.
Hi John,
I was in my LHS last weekend and they had this SD24 in CB&Q livery in
the brass display case. I saw it and decided to add it to my
collection. Other than this engine, all of my Q diesels are P2K. I
wasn't aware that the Q didn't own any 24's. Usually this sort of
thing happens with the plastic manufacturers. I always thought the
brass manufacturers were more accurate. So anyhow, I was looking for
a second one so that I could pair them up for running. I do run my
brass. I usually re-motor with can motors and add DCC decoders and
some sound, as funds permit.
Thanks for the info,
