Mine runs like something worthy of Lionel (if you're wondering, that's not
meant as a compliment). I suspect it has the problems Denny mentions, and
at some point I will get it running better. In my case it feels worth the
effort/expense since I love the prototype, I model the Lines West and this
is the only Burlington lignite burner I think anyone has offered; it's also
the only steam passenger engine I own.
Doc Denny, incidently, laid out his critique of this model in somewhat
greater detail back in December, 2001 and -- like a good doctor -- also
wrote us all a detailed prescription for how to cure its ills. Check his

archives.
