I have been told that when the Q was rebuilding the 7100 series cars for 
"Suburban Service" (1949/50) they painted up four (?) coaches in different 
paint 
schemes and had commuters vote on them.  I know one of them was a shadow 
striped PB-19 6105 (see the back cover of the Bulletin #4)  I have been told by 
George Speir that there was indeed a maroon paint scheme on one of the cars.

This is something I have been meaning to check out for a long time.  Maybe 
this will motivate me to get off my dead *** and do some research...
