Mr. Manley, you may tell Mr. Miller that the 4978 will not receive
silver paint again, when the locomotive came to Mendota, a couple of
well meaning people die paint the front of the smoke box silver, but
this will be redone, this is one of the reasons that i came to this
group about the right colors, trying to make sure that it was done
right. The sides and the fire box are a medium to light shade of
graphit and we have a paint chip that is close to the color we have.
yesrerday we finished putting in new windows in the cab, so I guess we
are about ready to start painting, we DO need volenteers to help and to
make sure we get it done right, any NHRS chapters interested?
